Between pixels and prints: My path to creative freedom
Welcome to my homepage. My name is Thomas, I was born in 1995 and I started taking photographs in the fall of 2019.
My family got me into photography. They've been enthusiastic amateur photographers for years. I made my first attempts at photography during a walk we took together.
On the following page you can see some pictures from my early days with the camera.
As they say, no one is born a master. My first pictures were... well, room for improvement. Nevertheless, I still enjoy looking at some of them, as they are very minimalist and remind me of my early days.
Since I was temporarily unable to pursue my actual hobby, air rifle shooting, during the "Corona lockdown," I needed a new activity. So I devoted myself even more to photography.
After many attempts, I finally started with macro photography in the spring of 2020. I quickly discovered the joy of making tiny things appear larger than life. So I bought a macro lens. But even then, it took me a while to get good enough pictures to show anyone. My sister showed me a lot and helped me a great deal. It might have tested her patience a bit too 😊.
That same year, I also started taking landscape photographs. For macro photography, I was usually out in the early morning, as the light is simply at its most beautiful then and has a very special charm. It's worth getting up early and photographing the sunrises. Even if they don't always turn out exactly as you imagine, it's wonderful to simply enjoy the stillness.
I also enjoyed photographing the sunsets. These actually suited me a bit better, since I'm actually a late sleeper.
But even here, my first pictures weren't exactly great. Nevertheless, if you enjoy it, you shouldn't give up immediately.
Also in 2020, I photographed my first wedding. That was also the beginning of my portrait and wedding photography. Since then, I have regularly photographed portraits, weddings, and pets.
I always particularly enjoy photographing people. When you look at the finished pictures at home and realize you've captured special emotions, that always makes me very happy.
Spring 2022 was simply far too hot. As a result, there were unfortunately too few insects to photograph. I then decided to buy a telephoto lens to focus more on wildlife photography.
I've already managed to take some great pictures there. However, I've found that I'm too impatient to sit in a tent or something similar for hours and wait. So I go for walks and photograph everything that happens to cross my path or fly past my lens. It's a great way to enjoy nature and switch off from the stresses of everyday life.
Once a year, my sister and I go on a tour of abandoned places. I find deserted factories the most interesting. You can discover so many little things that were left behind. The stories behind them are always fascinating, too.
However, it is important to note: We only visit abandoned places that we have booked through a provider or for which we have obtained permission from the owner beforehand.
In November 2022, I launched this website to share my photos with everyone. I'm always happy to see my pictures or calendars hanging in someone else's living room or kitchen. Enjoy browsing my photos, and who knows, maybe one of my pictures will soon be hanging in your home too 😉.
Since May 2023, a selection of my images has been available for purchase in my online shop. Printing, sales, and all other aspects of the transaction are handled by Saal Digital.

In November 2023, I decided to also offer my products on Etsy. There will be regular sales there, such as Black Friday deals. So check back often. I'm also constantly designing new photo displays and cards.
In December 2024, I began to translate my creative ideas into designs, which I offer here. Each design is hand-drawn by me – a process that helps me unwind after a stressful day and unleash my creativity. I'm excited to see where this journey will lead.
